| In creating this portrait of black horses running at liberty, it was especially challenging and exciting to fulfill the client's vision. The horses and background were garnered from five different reference photographs, with the result being a real yet idealized depiction of this incredible farm setting. Each horse was photographed individually running past the artist's camera, then combined into the portrait painting. They actually have a HUGE unfenced pasture area surrounded by woods where they are safely turned out one at a time. They have no desire to leave! |
